Beach Baby

Mom took me to the beach at Fire Island on Sunday with some of her friends and it was a great time. They've all decided that the sun is a little stronger than they realized. Momma put SPF 30 on twice and still got burnt. And the water was ice cold so there wasn't much time in the water this time. For those of you who aren't in NYC, Fire Island is a long skinny sidebar that runs along just under Long Island (on the top pic you can see my apartment marked on the left side of the map - with Manhattan just the the left of it, and the mark on the right is our location on Fire Island).

There are no cars allowed on Fire Island, so its all just boardwalks...the fire department was hilarious...it had little golf cart fire trucks. Fire Island is also somewhat famous for having a lot of deer on the beaches, and Momma and her friends saw one wandering around and the people just acted totally normal when it was right next to them! Maybe when the parental units take me later on, I can ride the deer! Yipeeee! (Mom's saying no, but I'm pretty sure I'll be so cute I'll be able to talk her into anything.)

It was a great day, and I got my first taste of clam strips (consensus: Yummy!), lots of fruit, and some frozen lemonade.

Also, Momma is starting to accept that that belly is going to grow, so last week Daddy and she went to a sample sale for pre-born-baby (maternity) clothes and Momma found some clothes that will work till I get there (and maybe a little bit afterwards). After finding much reduced designer jeans, some other pants, a tshirt and a skirt, it was deemed a success. Momma refuses to wear most of it now, since it isn't really necessary, but its good to have it.

Now, since it will be a while before you get another picture of me, go ahead and take another look at that one of me below. I personally like the one of me sucking my thumb. GOSH I'm cute! Momma says that she's going to post a picture of Daddy and her really soon, so keep an eye out.
